Hurricane Isaac churned up 2010 BP oil spill

Laboratory tests have confirmed that globs of oil which were found on Elmer's Island and Grand Isle in Louisiana after Hurricane Isaac came from the BP oil spill in 2010.  State wildlife officials have confirmed that the oil found matches the biological footprint of the oil that came from BP's Macondo well.  Large tar balls were found all along the beaches and this may be reoccurring for years as waves continue to wash up the buried oil.  Ed Overton, the LSU chemist who did the state tests stated that more oil was buried perhaps as deep as 3 feet along the coast of Lousiana and it has been difficult for cleanup crews to find and remove the buried oil.  The fact that Hurricane Isaac has washed up the buried oil may have been a good thing, enabling workers to clean it up.
