The following are some basic websites I used to keep up to date with environmental hazards occurring around the world.

www.cnn.com
www.msnbc.com
I used these websites the most to get news on hazard events.  They allow you to select different topics and provide great articles and videos.  These websites also provide follow up stories on the progress of disaster relief and recovery from hazard events.

www.weather.com
I would use this link to look for recent weather events that have occurred throughout the United States. It is constantly changing so it was helpful to check this website out daily. I would usually then try to find local news on these hazard events to get both subjective and object views on the events.

Along with the previous link, I would also look at the Storm Prediction Center which gives you a live map of the U.S. showing any watches/warnings, sever weather reports, or hazards occurring during that day.

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/
This link gives you maps and locations of various environmental hazards occurring around the world.  I liked this link because it would provide you with images of the day showing how storms look from space. It also allows you to search by topic such as natural hazards, atmosphere, heat, snow and ice, and even remote sensing.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/
I used this link for basically my own interest because it provides scientific approaches to hazard events which appeals to me.
